Dandruff is an embarrassing and often irritating problem that can occur to anyone at any age. Its generally characterized by white flakes of dead skin cells in the form of little scales that are attached to the scalp and can flake off leaving white spots in the hair or on the clothes. It can be very noticeable in people with dark hair and is often the source of much anxiety. There are more than just a couple reasons that dandruff can become an issue for people and with such a wide varying of causes it’s necessary to have a larger amount of treatments that can be used to effectively deal with the problem. The best thing to do is to identify what the cause of the dandruff is first so that you have an easier time curing it.  One of the most common reasons for dandruff is poor nutrition. It’s also caused by a zinc deficiency, yeast infections, and the use of very drying soaps and shampoos. Sometimes it can be the result of an allergy (either to a food or to a certain shampoo or soap) but it also can be a result of stress. There are plenty of remedies that can help relieve dandruff though so it shouldn’t  be a cause of too much concern. Changing up your diet a little can be very helpful too. Little things like avoiding red meat and coffee as well as candy and soft drinks can be very helpful. Simple carbs should be avoided as well just because they will increase the amount of oil that is produced on the skin and this can mean more dandruff.

Mixing lemon peels with coconut oil and letting them soak for a couple of weeks and then applying them to scalp can do a lot to help with dandruff because the lemon helps clean the skin and clear the pores so that they aren’t clogged with any excess oil and the coconut oil helps keep the skin moisturized so that dandruff doesn’t continue to form. Massaging your scalp with olive oil and almond oil has a similar effect. Rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar can also be effective as a cure for dandruff. Rinsing with lime juice has a similar effect and can do a good job as well. You can also try adding two eggs that have been beaten to your hair after washing it and let it sit for fifteen minutes or so. Just be sure to rinse your hair out in cold water so hat you don’t have any issues with the egg in your hair getting to hot which will make it harder to get out once you’re done letting it sit. Beet-root leaves are also thought to be a helpful remedy for preventing dandruff in the hair - simply mashing them up and apply on the head and then rinsing with cool water can make a difference. Massaging the head with apple juice can also make a big difference but it should be pure apple juice - not something processed and full of chemicals.

Dandruff does not have to be a permanent part of your life. Just test out some of these simple home remedies and soon you’ll have lovely dandruff free hair.
